This may seem a common sense question to answer but thought I would ask anyway! Those of you who have pigs outdoors and bring them in,when do you do tend to do it? I just let my dogs out and I was cold,shivering a bit even. Now huddled up in my duvet I'm thinking are they cold. They have fleece that they dig under,hay and a waterproof cover. This is going to be first winter with me, still searching around for indoor cage. Even though I have a child I treat my animals as my babies sorry to say and are all pampered.

It is coming up to the time. I think that many people bring in their piggies either when there is a danger of frosty nights, but anytime when outdoors temperatures are falling below the average indoors temperature you want to keep them at would be right.

I would recommend to get hold of some microwaveable snugglesafes. they are great for colder nights, even for indoors piggies!

Normally - I would bring in outdoor piggies by end Sept/mid October. That's because normally we have steady decrease in temperature and before temp gets below 4deg C (ie first frost) I would have them in..

However this year - we have been blessed with very hot humid weather starting early. Last week it was 23degC - this week it is 15.,This is a massive jump for outdoor guineas. So given it has reached my parameters (i.e. 8-10degC difference), they are now coming in abeit somewhat easier than usual;

mine are always in, but i've noticed it get quite chilly recently so i would say very soon. :)

I was noticing how much cooler the nights were,especially when doing their water bottles in the morning how cold the bottles are. I have put their squbes in and extra hay to burrow in and pull the cover over their hutch.

I really need to get my backside in gear and get the shed ordered and sorted out.

I brought mine in from the garden to the lounge at the beginning of October last year and then just forgot to put them back out again in the spring! :oops::D
