Millle was put to sleep last night because of,sudden bloat after suffering with bladder issues, she also had a sizable (this is what our vet said) ovarian cyst. She said that if the cyst burst it wouldnt harm Millie but I find that hard to believe. Is this true?

It is true. Everything is sterile inside and so burst cysts don't generally cause problems. My first experience of cysts was with Bea a few years back and hers burst while the vet was feeling them and she never had any problems from that. He was a very good exotics specialist who sadly only lasted a month at my old vets (they couldn't keep good vets for more than a year)

My Millie used to have cysts that would grow and then burst too and it never really affected her. I even saw one burst once when she was examined at the vets.

My Tegyd suffered a burst cyst before her appointment and didn't have any issues from that.

Thank you for settling my mind. I was worried that Millie's had burst and caused the bowel obstruction.
