Hi There

My first pair of piggies came to us on Monday. They are approximatly 8 weeks old :)

Jasmine has sat in her wee and around her bum is stained yellow (usually white fur)

Is it too early to be able to bath her?

I don't usually bath my piggies that young, maybe that's my own personal prefernce, not sure on the facts though x

Tired wiping her with a wet cloth but that didn't work.

I have a white piggie who gets a smelly botty too! I bathed all 6 guineas a few weeks ago, but didn't bath martha, who was probably about approx 12 weeks or older. I wait til they are at least a few months old. I think it might be a bit of a scary experience for them at the moment too.

Most shampoos made for pigs are for pigs that are 12 weeks and older, however, if you really need to do her tum use a very mild small amount of baby shampoo on her tummy.

I only bathe my piggies only when necessary (like for fungal or after mites) - otherwise, it can be twice a year for my shorthairs and perhaps double as often for my longhaired piggies (I prefer to keep the bum end cut short). Please wait until they are older.

Here is a thread about bathing from the refernece section which you may find informative and helpful: http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=47314

Will it do her any harm if I leave it for a few weeks until she's a bit bigger. Just worried about her going out in her run and flys..
