when will it settle down?!

so since i've had my 2 girls (only 3 months ago)

i've been through, fungal infection, still born baby, horrendous holiday boarding situation followed by chest problems and now they are fighting! Xionati is chasing and nipping Barbie on and off all day.

Why are they fighting suddenly from nowhere!

Really I'm just about ready to seperate them!

Nothing at all like the friendly snuggling together I have read about and was hoping for.
 
I'm sorry i dont know the answer to your questions just that i sympathise with you. I'm sure someone helpful will be along real soon.
 
one's probably in season and annoying the other, they should settle within a few days.

Sounds like you've really been through it with your girls! Sorry it hasn't been a great start to ownership but think how much you have learnt about piggies!

I have two sows and as Lizzie said often when one or both of them are in season they do rumble at each other and chase each other around. They also squirt wee at each other! They usually go back to normal within a few days!

Hope it gets better, they are such lovely animals. If you have any other questions then please do ask away, there is usually someone around who can help!
 
thanks for the support, yes maybe it is just that. bit like PMT, sometimes I feel like chasing people around and nipping them! :))

Hahahaha! :)):)):)):)) they do say that piggies get PMT!

As i said i had a similar thing with my girls and at the beginning i was really worried about them. I posted a thread and there are some responses on there http://www.theguineapigforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=67189 all say it is more than likely that they are in season!

I'm sure they'll settle down soon :)

Only nipping :) I could :o 8... at the same time :x
Does sound like they are in season as others have suggested - my girls do it but all is well within a day or two :))
 
thank you to everyone who gave advice here, you will be pleased to know that it seems like you were right. My girls have settled down today and are happily sharing :)).

Happier guinea pig mummy today.
