The lady who runs the boarders just sent me the picture below. She’s going to get her seen by her vets. I did not see this on Saturday or Sunday when I have them the once over! Hopefully all will be well ☹️30D75C79-8334-4016-8FFA-AF76AC97F09E.webp

Ouch!

Please do not beat yourself up over missing an ulcer - they come on incredibly fast in a matter of hours. It was simply not there when you handed them over.

The sooner it is being seen and treated with antibiotic eye drops or gel, a lubricant of some sort and some painkiller, the quicker it will heal without major problems. ;)
 
Thank you all. I feel bad even though it definitely wasn’t there before I dropped them off on Sunday. The lady is lovely and has said not to worry, she’s got it all in hand. I feel I chose better this time. I’ll give an update tomorrow when I know more.

Hay poke is an occupational hazard for piggies & buns and all boarding establishments must see it regularly. Please try not to worry too much as it sounds like the owner has it all in hand and it will get prompt treatment.

The eye doesn't look bloody so it is likely just a normal hay poke that should heal pretty straight forward with the correct meds. I would expect any piggy boarder to see their fair share of them.

Take a deep breath; it is just one of these things.
 
I hope your piggy gets better soon. They always seem to pick the wrong times for any health issues.
 
Oh no what a worry... these things happen so quickly (Winny managed to do similar in a few hours).. I hope all is well when you get an update tomorrow x

Thank you. She guessed ulcerated and was on the ball. So I’m happy 😊

I think it’s the fact I’ve not had it in all this time. Luck if the draw I guess.

That’s piggy timing for you.
Sounds as if Coco is in excellent hands though.
By the time you get back the eye may well be completely healed.
