Just checking on the girls before I go to bed. Ginny was lying flat out with what looked like a massive smear of poo coming out of her bottom. As she's has recent tummy trouble I panicked thinking I'd have to call the out of hours vet.
Then I looked closer and realised it was her foot! :xd: She has brown soles to her feet, but because it was only one I didn't twig. Phew! I think I might be getting paranoid about her health lol.
Ginny of course didn't even budge, flat out asleep. I gave them some more hay and she shot up, head first into the hay.
Wish I'd of gotten a photo but my phone had just died.

My biggest almost panic was once thinking Jezzy had a massive bleeding wound on her side... it was a big strand of grated beetroot from the bistro salad caught in her floofy fur lol! Dont these piggies scare us :)

Another scare I've had is Piggle's foot pads turning black... I was sure her poor little paws were all gangrenous and going to drop off, but when I examined them they were fine- it was partly her himalayan ancestry (her ears and feet go dark some weeks) but also she'd been playing on newspaper for a couple of hours, it was mostly newspaper ink that had dissoved in the piggy pee and she's walked through it!

I’m always thinking Jess is dead :doh:Very scary recently with her health probs! With her being deaf and recently losing her eye she’ll lay there and not move even when my hands are in the cage, my heart will stop and then she’ll suddenly jump up and start shouting at me! How dare I wreck her sleep!?:)) I can laugh now but terrifying at the time!

Everytime I see a thread like this I'm reminded of @Swissgreys back when Ruby "died". Comet used to lie asleep, still as the dead, and I'd be torn between giving him a gentle nudge, or talking enough to finally get his attention. Thinking about it, maybe I should've just rustled a hay bag...

@alpacasqueak Oh my gosh! Your profile pic looks IDENTICAL to one of my pigs, Sakura.

I remember taking Merab in to the vet for an emergency appointment as she had been hooting all day and I was worried about an infection.
After a thorough check, Merab swore at the vet when she had a thermometer stuck up her bum, she was given the all clear.
One miffed piggy, one relieved slave, one empty purse!

That’s my lovely boy Rupert who I lost in May, he was nearly 7. Can’t bear to change the pic as nice to see his little face every time I come on! 😍Sakura must be gorgeous:nod:

I love Rupert! ❤ He must have been a sweet boy, I'm sorry for your loss. 😔 Sakura is beautiful, though. She has sparkling eyes and dark ears with a touch of pink, and the purest white fur. I named her Sakura because her ears are a shade of soft pink.
