As i will be making the boys their c&c cage i would like a large plastic hay rack to hang on the side, but i cant find any only metal ones, i would like a plastic one so the hay wont go onto the living room floor. Anyone know where i can get one from? :)

I may have one you can have.

I'll have to have a rumage and see if I can find it. It came with the ferplast cage and I don't use it, I'm pretty sure I've still got it somewhere.

Will let you know if I can find it later this afternoon :)

I've got one too - goes on the outside of the cage right?

It's blue and big and unused.

Let me know if you want it.

Thanks little piggles and Lisa. Which one of you has the biggest one as i would like a big ish one as they seem to prefer eating from it now since ive put the litter tray in. Would you be able to measure it so i can compare, thanks. I dont mind paying postage. :)

The one i have now is with the nero 4 cage but i will have to sell that with the cage once my c&c is done and would like it to be abit bigger.

You might find that it will not fit over the wire on a c and c? I tried one that i borrowes off a friend and it would not fit over the wire!

Do you mean the wee hooks wouldn't fit over the grid wire? if so you could always drill wee holes in the plastic and tie it on the grid.

I bought a second-hand magazine rack for the rabbits' hay, and works quite well (the idea was that it would keep their hay in one place, but they couldn't sit on it (silly me!) - rabbits won't eat hay that they've used as bedding).

The rabbits and guinea-pigs are currently sharing the same shed (but it's sectioned-off), however, I have on occasion gone in to find a swarm of guinea-pigs on the rabbits' hay rack! They seem to love it; they can sit outside the rack and eat hay, but also sit inside it (hidden underneath the hay) and trough. Probably not what you're looking for though, as I imagine that you don't want them to be able to sit on the hay. However, if you could put, say, chicken wire round it to stop them from getting in, it may work. Just a suggestion, as they do look very cute when I see them on there - I'm tempted to buy another one just for them.

I can't think what you mean I was wondering if you had a picture?

Found it!

Mine is light grey in colour and about 9 1/2 " x 6" deep at the widest parts. Yours if you need it :)

Thanks for getting back to me with the measurements, i shall wait for Lisa's reply and sees who's the biggest, if thats ok?

I shall check that the hay rack fits over the C&C grid as i have them here ready for the build, just need some correx which I'm hoping to get Saturday.
:(|)

Thats a good idea about the magazine rack, but like Joanna I'm puzzled too, do you have a photo as its sounds interesting. :)

Course, no probs :)

The only thing you may have a problem with with this one is the bottom. You may have to drill two small holes and cable tie it on, as I think it's designed to fit into the base of the cage. Otherwise, I'm not sure if all the hay will just end up dropping out of the bottom onto your floor :(

i've also got two large plastic ones if you want. They are approx 30cms wide by 15cms high and about 10cms deep at the widest part. They are from my rabbit 140 and clip on the outside of the cage

Sorry it's taken me so long!

Mine is about the same size as the last post it's from the rabbit 150
