I always take them to the vets to get them clipped, but from the stress it causes them and the cost i thought i would have a go myself, what are the best clippers to use? :)
xx

I used to have a pair of 'guillotine' type clippers, but found they seemed to go blunt really quickly.

I use regular people nail clippers now on my lot and have found them to be the easiest to use :)

I've got these which I bought from Pets at Home. They are holding up well, my only grip is because the scissors are small, sometimes they pull on your finger through the hole.

You might like to try out a few and see which ones you are most comfy with - some people prefer human nail clippers, others the ones from p@h.

I found it easiest to start clipping too little rather than too much until I got more confident and to only do as many nails as I can get away with before a piggy gets wiggly - that can be one paw to four, depending...

There are some on ebay which are good ,about £2.50 plus postage.

I use these ones too.

I found that it takes a bit of practise to get used to lining up the nail and gauging precisely where the blades will actually cut the nail, if that makes sense, but I personally find these "scissor" styles ones much easier to use than clippers. Mind you, I never ever use nail clippers on myself either (the sound makes me feel queasy!) so that's probably why.
