I was halfway through reading a long thread about a lady who wanted to start a rescue when the forum crashed and now I can't find the thread to finish reading it. Can someone point me in the right direction? I'm interested to see how it turned out.

I was very surprised to see her being discouraged from starting a rescue seeing as how I keep reading how full all the other rescues are. Surely this forum should be encouraging people like her?

Hi, there were a number of quite serious issues and inconsistencies developed, so it had to be removed. xx

Not too surprised it went really, people were horrible to that poor girl. It has made me think twice about asking for advice here again.

I totally disagree with statement, if you had seen and read the whole thread you would disagree with your statement too. It was taken off for a reason and it wasn't because people were being horrible. I was very impressed with all the help and advice that was offered but was totally ignored.

when people have never ran a rescue they cant passably see the damaged this would have caused if this person started up a rescue, especially with their lack of knowledge about basic things

We're all entitled to our opinions. I read 7 pages and saw someone who wanted to help animals being told she was inadequate and would kill them.

This forum is a very judgemental place, this isn't the first time I have had concerns about how some posters are treated. I will find somewhere else to look for guinea pig advice.

I agree that we are entitled to our own opinions, and i think that some people did put across their opinions too harshly and judgmental. I didnt read it myself but maybe they were just having a bad day and took it out on the forum, but no one can get away from these types of people so please just ignore them and PLEASE dont go8...

Everyone on this orum has always given me good advise.

I read everyone of the posts you are referring to and everyone started off friendly etc.

As it got more bizarre, people started to lose patience and when we found her breeding site and this is a pro rescue site thas when it got heated.

Also she had a horse rescue site up and running to?

I read some of it and i wouldn't send pig's to her, she sound's lovely with very good intention's and it is soo hard to walk away from a needy animal, but i feel her heart was ruling her head in this case she would of failed, maybe you could help her?

I read the thread and chose not to comment. I have to say that I agree with most of the feedback given to her and peoples main intention was for the safety of the pigs in her care. One member even apologised for sounding harsh but to be honest she was just saying what needed to be said.

I think everyone on this forum appreciates that we were all beginners at one stage and we have all made mistakes. I can honestly say that I have learnt so much from the people on here but I have learnt from listening to the advice given and taking it all on board and unfortunately the member in question seemed to be ignoring peoples information.

It is a sad fact of life that on any internet forum someone will post a situation and other pople will try to help..and then it is realised that the person who started the thread is actually not really listening/may be distorting the truth somewhat and has another agenda other than (pertaining to GPF) the welfare of their piggies.

In this particular case I have to applaud the patience and helpfulness of the posters on that thread - I was following it and at first was sympathetic - untill the poster repeatedly disabused/refused to accept posts from very experienced forum members instructing them to separate the preganant guinea pig from the rabbit......after that it went completely downhill in terms of factual consistency of the "story"...and any demonstrated commitment from the poster for the welfare of their animals

Yes there were some "judgemental" posts - but necessary I think to alert people to what was going on....and the history of this person on other forums......

I'm sorry you think the forum is judgmental - this is one of the "softest" and "most fluffy" forums I am a member of. There are quite a few threads started on here where it is clear to the experienced forum members that the piggie concerned need not have died/suffered if it had received proper care at an earlier stage..or if the poster concerned had followed the advice given.........yet I have never seen anyone make that type of judgemental statement/comment on a thread.

So I will I re-iterate - I think the posters on the thread concerned were actually very restrained and I applaud them for their self-control.

I sincerely hope the experienced stalwarts who spent their time and energy over the last few days on that thread do not feel put off in any way. You were NOT judgemental ......you all tried to help in a very constructive manner, with the piggie's welfare first and formeost in your minds, and you did the best you could in very difficult circumstances. Well done - I applaud you all.

The very fact that you finally decided to "call out" this person in the end is testament to the real knoweldge and experience you have...and your ultimate concerns for piggies everywhere.....Without your experience and commitment...there would be no forum.......
