i have my rescues in the shed which has curtains and a carpet downrolleyesrolleyes trying to make it homely for them:(|)
and my own piggies live in my livingroom with us,i read some people house theres in the kitchen is this a good idea with all the smoke from the frying pan getting into the piggies chest,as i was thinking about having a move around and putting mine in the kitchen but wasnt sure if this was a good thing to do or not?/ just wondering if anyone on here has there guineas in the kitchen and have the guineas been ok?

I have kitchen pigs, but my kitchen is long and thin and they are down the end by the door - and I have an extractor fan!

The rest of the piggies are in the shed in winter and out in the summer :)

mine are all in the living room :)p like to keep a eye on the little rascals;)

I don't fry anything, but the toaster has been known to emit black smoke every now and again! Sadly, I can't have kitchen pigs because of the dog. All mine are in a very sturdy handbuilt shed, radiator, cd player etc. no carpet though, that would be a nightmare with the hay for me, I am too messy. I have a ''bonding' / run C & C in the dining room though, which my piggies run wild in. x

i got wood flooring thank god or my hoover would've blown up by now :)p

well as you know my piggies have their own bedrooms :) but they live outside in the summer, i keep new arrivals downstairs, and my dining room which is attached to the kitchen is the hospital ward, i dont fry very often but ive never had any problems keeping them in there, i know that non stick pans give off toxins that are harmfull for birds and can cause respitory(sp) problems but i dont use non stick pans :)

Mine are raised up in the living room next to the sofa so I can watch them noshing and popcorning like they are right now :)
But I only moved them in here in the autumn, before that they were in the kitchen, and were fine, as I had the windows open all the time in the summer, and would open the door if I did fry anything.

ive got wood flooring in my house but in the shed theres carpet my shed is only small 6 by 8ft and i had a roll end carpet put in there its got curtains up and nets and a light hanging from the roof:)) very homley ive even got my own hoover that my step son was going to throw away so i had it has it works great still just needed the hose tapeing so i hoover it every day :)) think the neighbours think ive lost it@)@)
I'm going to get another shed that i can attach to my shed ive got now so i can use it as a L shape shed and walk through into the other via 1 shed:(|)

how big is your shed?

All of mine live indoors, 2 are downstairs in a hutch above the bunny who has his double hutch and the rest have the master bedroom upstairs loool We moved out of there for them. Well gotta love piggies :)

Mine are kitchen piggies too, but down the other end away from all the cooking fumes. I love having them in there as it's where I spend most of my time, but it's not so great if I want to make myself a mid-afternoon snack :o They get very cross with me if I make something for myself and don't give them some too.

Our girls are in the living room at the moment - they wouln't fit in our kitchen, it's tiny!

They'll be going out into a shed once the weather warms up and then out into the garden in the (too brief!) summer months

Our shed will only be tiny - just a 6x4, but plenty big enough for our three little girls and a lawnmower!

aye we dont let the cage touch the radiator - we even have a travel blanket that goes over the back and some of the sides of the cage at night to keep a wee bit of draft out - they are pampered piggies x)

all mine have a nice thick towel over them :)p i tell people i use it so they know when i'm going to bed or out :)p but really its to keep them a bit warmer also in the morning when you move it you get to see cheeky little faces saying yeah your up wheres my breakfast :p

We've got one of those living rooms where the wall between the front and back living rooms is knocked through, so technically our boys are in the back room, but we can see them from the living room :)

sophiew, wow your setup looks like you put an amazing amount of time and effort into it! 8)

Elvis is in the utility at the moment which is in the house, We have a shed that we bought just for the piggies and rabbit but now we only have one piggy he is in the house ,I am hopefully getting another two piggys and they will stop in the house until it warms up then go in the shed.
I have got plans though before that to revamp the layout in the shed wait till I tell hubby he will be pleased, I love finding him projects to do.

I keep them in a box under the stairs, when they have been good. ;)

Just kidding, we have an open dining area in the kitchen and they slot in nicely there. I wanted them in the spare room as it looks neater but I would miss the veg chopping wheeks.

Mac and Rascal have pride of place in the living room(i dont have a coffee table any longer as its become the stand for their cage rolleyes) Del and Rodney live in the kitchen i have wondered about the fumes getting to them though, i dont fry things but i spill things in the oven and forget to clean it up and my kitchen can become smokey!poor piggies :(
