Sonnet
Adult Guinea Pig
Moved Sprout and Spud outside for the summer (separate hutches). They’re enjoying the fresh air, and I can sit at my kitchen table again! There’s one problem, however. Or it’s a problem to Sprout, anyway. Imagine that I’ve been out, and have just come home. I’ll say hello to the piggies, unlock the door, and go inside. I’ll just be sitting down, when suddenly:
Sprout: Wheek! WHEEK WHEEK WHEEK!
Me: (opens door) What?!
Sprout: Wheek wheek wheek! (Hungry! There’s no food in my bowl!)
Spud doesn’t do wheeking. He just sticks his nose through the bars. Or runs frantically round until there is food in his bowl. But Sprout...well, anything sets him off shouting!
