yes you are rite apparantaly iceburge is possibsly risponsibal for calcium build up in the bladder ,
Personaly l dont give mine any type of lettece other than Romain , and even that is ony as a treet
any that isn't iceberg is considered fine. i feed a wide range and it's actually mollie's main fresh food now as she has bladder issues (inflammation and excess calcium salts) - mollie and benjie at the moment have: cos, red mini cos, butterhead green and red, lambs lettuce, curly leaf, sweet gem, little gem, round lettuce... we rotate the type as much as possible and mollie has hers with other low calcium veg, and benjie has his with mainly a variety of other leafy greens and herbs, with small amounts of other non-leafy greens.
there have been some posts about romaine potentially causing issues but i'm not sure where that has come from and i stopped feeding it but then read that cos is the same thing (?) and i feed that with no issues. so who knows!
if you feed a wide variety and rotate as much as possible then you shouldn't have any issues
It's round in our house - and then the frilly type when it's on offer at Waitrose (I can't afford to shop at Waitrose my daughter just has a Saturday job there )
I have only ever given my piggies little gem lettuce but I might go to a mix of little gem and romaine except I don't think my local shop sells romaine
