Which Pet Carrier?

The boys are going to the vet for a check up because they itch non-stop. How should I transport them please?

I use our old cat carrier - I find it's a nice size for the 2 of them and nice and secure as well

I use cat carriers too If you don't have one, use a deep plastic box, no lid but cover with a towel pegged all around & don't let the box out of your sight or near any other animals when you are in the vets. I sit mine on my lap always as there is usually a nosey dog that comes in whilst I am there

I like that one Sportbilly! I may have to get one We have a pet carrier & a similar one to yours & I prefer the top opening; I have been looking for another for a while, thanks

I have several different types of carrier. To transport more than one ill pig in the same space I would consider the ventilation aspect and I would use a carrier that opens not only at the front but also at the top - it is much easier and less stressful for the piggies concerned (and the vet!) to be taken out from above.

PS The blue top opening one Sport Billy posted (Savic) is also good - I have one myself and use it often - however it is not best suitable for 2 pigs for more than a 15min each way return journey.

I have the blue one but also two cat carriers. I have a fab cat carrier which has top opening mesh door as well as the normal side door which is fab. Only downside of cat carriers is that hay / poos generally fall out in your car and in vets which is a little embarrassing

This is the one i have - took a bit of time putting it together but fits two piggies no problem. Brought it mainly because it was girly. rory doesn't seem to complain though hahaha!

I had same problem. I have an old version which I bought 5 years ago It was used and still going strong. I bought another recently and ut fell apart and it ground with pigs inside I took it back for refund and bought cat carriers instead

Same! I was lucky I only had Maple in the carrier, if I had Rambo she would have legged it!

I was outside at vets. Luckily they were stunned and just sat there. I didnt get an apology from p@h or anything

I took mine back and it had the sticker peeled off… swear I saw it on the shelf again a few days later!
Didn't get a apology either just a sheepish look

If two need to be taken together, I just put them in a plastic box without a lid and carry that but put a towel over it and a snuggle cosy inside it.

I have those as well & find them great for one piggy. For 2 or if they have to stay for some time, like Peanut Butter with his monthly dentals, I use the original stupid small pet shop cage Hazelnut came with. It opens at the top and has handles at the side to carry it, so you can imagine how small it is! But it has just enough room for 2 piggies, a water bottle & a bowl of food.

Quite agree with this, top opening is far easier to get piggies out.
