Hey friends,

My Peruvian boy who has chronic impaction and frequent “boar glue” matted to his underbelly was in desperate need of a proper bath/nail trim/haircut as it’s been quite a long time. This was specifically for health reasons (i do not take them to get bathed unless necessary)
I took him to our local rescue, where they’ve always gone for their infrequent baths over the years, however, our main groomer/vet tech is no longer there.

I asked for my boy to be cut very short as I usually do during his 1-2x a year bath (I don’t care if it looks silly it helps with his moving around with his arthritis and eyesight and for me with maintaining him… anyway I’m home now and noticing the new volunteer cut all of his beautiful long whiskers VERY short and I’m slightly panicking.
Will he be okay?
It’s like taking away his main vision sensory from him and I feel awful.

These are what they look like… usually they’re easily twice this length. :(

Aw, thank you for the reply.
I do know they will grow back, I’m just hoping it won’t cause too much confusion or disorientation for him in the meantime.
He’s pretty upset w me after all the stress today, poor sensitive little angel.
My other boy has already forgiven me after bribing him w veggies.

They adapt well to things don't they. So I think he'll manage until then he looks very sweet 💙
