white border around eye?

73EAFDB4-5EA1-4A14-BE91-5BB7E7D7E6B2.webpdoes anyone know what this is? i asked my vet about it and they weren’t sure and gave me an eye cream for him a few months ago which did nothing, but i’m pretty sure it got bigger over time.

Hi

This is osseous metaplasia (soft eye tissue being replaced by bony tissue). It is harmless and is not painful. It is also not all that uncommon in older guinea pigs. There is nothing you can do about it. All it does is limit the field of sight a little bit (just the very edge).
