New Born Pup
Over the past couple of days, I noticed a white crust thing forming above my Guinea Pig's eye. I do not know what it is or what should i do with it.

Hi and welcome!
Please have your piggies seen by a vet for ringworm/fungal. Do not treat at home and before they have been seen, as that can make a diagnosis more difficult.
Have you had your guinea pigs for long? Ringworm is very common in new shop piggies. If yes, you can claim back the vet cost from the shop.
Please careful read our ringworm guide; the hygiene side is as important as the treatment, as ringworm is the one most transmittable problem between all mammals, including humans!
Please also be aware that once it has become acute, ringworm needs to run its course and will get worse before it gets better. You need to also treat any companions to prevent them coming down with it, but you do not need to separate if it is just one companion. Just make sure that you give them both a bath at the end of it to prevent them from carrying spores in the coat.
Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures
Definitely. Where are you located we may be able to suggest a good one near you. Certainly looks like fungal to me will clear up with some cream or imaverol applied topically. One of our piggies keeps getting it in the same position.
Welcome to the forum, you piggy is adorable, what is their name?
That's sad to hear about your piggy. I'm located in Derby.
Ok, Thanks for the adviceRingworm can be got on top of fairly easily once it is being treated properly, but please make sure that you are not spreading it and be careful in terms of hygiene, so you can prevent a re-infection.![]()
