Hi, new here!
I've got a white female sow that is between the ages of 4 and 5 (She was a rescue). I got her as part of a pair but sadly the other sow passed away in December.

My remaining piggy, Rose as said above is white however while putting some food in for her and having a cuddle this evening I noticed her back end is yellowing? I'm going to give her a bath tomorrow and total clean her cage out, so i'm hoping its nothing to worry about but is it just likely shes sat in some mess? Her anus and other genital area seems clean, theres no mess or anything stuck its just the fur going yellow around her back end. This is the first time this has happened, I've had her for 3 years now. Has this happened to anyone else and what was the reason for it?

There is a chance your piggy has just laid in there own wee wee ! My boy Bentley has a white belly and it's forever getting a tinge of yellow thanks to his love of laying in his toilet area !
As long as your piggie is still moving around her cage and isn't just laying in her wee because she can't move anywhere else it's perfectly normal ! (:

Thank you so much! I got a bit worried, shes always been very on top of keeping herself very well kept, so much I've never actually had to intervene. Shes still moving around quite actively as she once was thank god and is still wheeking very actively whenever she hears the kale bag ;)

Shes probably laid in her wee. I have a white boar who is nearly 6 now, and from time to time he yellows, especially on his tummy. I think he gets too lazy or stiff to move. Hopefully a nice bath and some clean bedding will have her shiny white again.

x.

I'm certainly hoping so! Tomorrow will actually be her first bath, so i'm wondering what she'll make of it!

My Rosie is white and is 6 now and she always seems to have a yellowy back end. She is quite stiff as I have seen her bunny hopping alot- so maybe she just doesn't like moving.

Bottom baths seem to be the way forward, and regular allover baths keep her smelling fresh and looking a little cleaner.

One of my boys lays in his own pee. His belly is yellow...and is def supposed to be white! Lol
