Hi All,

Sorry if this is not the right place to post this. I was wondering if anyone has had guinea pigs pass white-ish colour poo's?

I noticed a few in the cage at the end of last week and thought maybe they were just dried up from the hot weather (I hoover it out every day so they hadnt been in there long) but then i have noticed some more the last few days. they're not all white and the white one's are only half white if that makes sense!

I didnt know if this was calcuim, like they sometimes have in the pee? and if so if there is anything I can give them or stop giving them to help thier diet?

I'm worried I just hope it isn't anything bad, but it has only been going on for a few days so please let me know what you think as I can take Liddell to the vet (i'm pretty sure they're coming from her and not my other guinea pig).

Thank you,

Danielle

Usually when I've seen this it is dried poops. They don't come out white from the pig but they go like that. Spot cleaning often usually keeps it down. :)

Yer as louise says it's usually dried ones that have been wee'd on, the wee goes white and turns the poo that colour lol nothing to worry about xx

Oh didn't realise the wee did it them! Learn something new everyday haha x

Thank you for the replies :-) I'll try not to worry, presumably it must be the calcium. I'll keep an eye on it though!

Can anyone reccomend what veg I should be giving that arent too high in calcium? are these what cause the bladder stones or is it veg that is high in something else?

thank you :-)

Danielle

hi, feed them lettuce, carrots and celery and some other salad ingredience, don't use cellery unless you chop it up other wise the strings can get stuck in there indigestive system.

If you look in the food section there is a list what CCC4 did (its a sticky) on what foods are to be feed weekly, daily etc. :)

Vitamin C doesn't cause bladder stones. It is too much Calcium in the diet. So in other words too much of one veg say carrots may cause a build up of Calcium and a stone may form. :)

i always thought it was calcium . is it lack off. cause i know when dogs some times was white some one said it was calcium
