This might be a stupid question but I thought I'd throw it out there anyway.
So on my birthday my mother and I decided to go fishing- and on the way home we discussed fish and their ability to 'fin' you. It may be called something different for you guys but I know it is painful and most wild fish have this defensive characteristic..
But if you've ever handled a goldfish(I've had to when having to tend to wounds in the past or once when I had to remove a pebble from my goldfish' throat) then you'd know that they don't have.. whatever they need to in order to fin you, I guess.
Manipulated/forced evolution is a possibility.. but goldfish also have teeth in their throat which should have also changed alongside their fins.

A general Google search doesn't pull up much, so any kind of opinion would be appreciated.
