Hes a 2yr old boar aby - he use to nip but has nt as yet ! but when i talk to him when hes in his cage or on the couch he makes a little rattling noise - is this aggression ?

:tickedoff: :o

i had another boar who passed away last year and he was always nipping me ands pulling my clothes! Is this a boar thing?

Not necessarily a boar thing. Teeth rattling is a sign of aggression and basically he is telling you to bog off ;D
My Lennie does this sometimes so I just leave him alone till he is in a better mood :)

;D

i thought so ! needed to check lol - light nips occasionally is this also a dominance thing or is this a love nip :smitten:

I dont know really, I like to think it is affection but they probably smell food on your fingers. Lennie did this to me earlier when I came home and I thought it was cute until I realised I had been handling veggies in Asda ;D

Yes, my guinea pigs sometimes make that noise when I'm handling them and yet mostly they don't. I've found that feeding them a treat (cabbage or something) can make them stop and lie peacefully. Bribery is always worth a shot!

thanks for your help

i think my boy is a bit nuts as he chatters to himself when noones near him 98)

he has calmed down loads and even cuddles up next to me :smitten:

he loves cucumber and that works a treat ! bit like men way to their hearts is through their stomach ;D
