So today is a very nice cool mid 60s F day weird for July and break from the humidity. I really want to open my windows and let the nice breeze flow through, will this hurt the pigs? Like a draft will?

I leave my windows open all the time when it's hot otherwise it's just too stuffy. Today the windows had been closed due to rain during the night but the room was hot today, I could tell as soon as the breeze came through when I opened them that the piggies were really happy with it and felt much better for it.

Okay thanks so much for answering me. I guess I'm confused by what types of drafts are not good for them then?!? I don't want them to get an upper respiratory infection. Do you know what kinds are bad?

Angela

I imagine it's more of a constant direct draft on them, especially if it's cold. A bit like if you were stuck next to a drafty window in a restaurant or something. I'm no expert though. A gentle breeze through the room to cool the air down shouldn't cause too much harm, a bit like if you had a fan going you'd have it in the room but not directly on them.

Thanks that makes sense. I do have their cage next to a window that gets drafty in the winter. I could place plastic over the window in the winter or cover the cage in that area with something or I might have to move them. I can if we get rid of our big sectional couch which I hate.

I was wondering the same thing. It is more outside I am wondering. I go to put my pigs outside to get fresh air and grass and every time I do it is breezy and I don't want them to get bloat. It is starting to get colder here where they won't get out al all.
