I know it's a bit early but I've been thinking about what I need to be prepared for in terms of looking after the guinea pigs in winter.

The boyz have an outdoor hutch, indoor cage (smaller) and run.

Can they stay out in winter?

My home isn't heated during the day... if they are indoors will they need extra blankets etc?

And advice would be most welcome.

Thank you x :))

They can live outdoors but make sure the hutch is in a draft free area, hutch huggers are good for insulating. My boys had pigloos when they were outside which are toasty warm. I did bring them in when it started to snow but i know lots of people who house their piggies outside all year round. Just be sensible and trust your instincts.
They wont need extra blankets inside, they have a lovely fur coat on and (i presume) a bed or lots of nice hay to lay on. I let my boys run between the dining room and the hall, the hall gets very chilly but they are quite happy to lay out there rather than in the warmer dining room. We dont have the heating on much as i am ill and get very hot.
