We got a baby guinea pig a few weeks ago, named Foamy, that wobbles while he breathes. He has no eye or nose discharge, good weight, eats like a champ, runs around in his play area, no diarrhea, and no sounds while breathing. He was taken to the vet yesterday, but the vet is getting a hold of 1-2 other vets to see what they think bc he doesnt specialize in guinea pigs. The vet couldnt hear any problems with the breathing. Does anyone have a clue whats up?

Welcome to the forum. Do you mean he nods while he breathes? how old is he? Do you know if the vet has checked for any fluid on his chest?

Please could you update your location on your profile as it will help us advise you.

No, his whole body wobbles, feet stay planted and the body wobbles around or back and forth. He doesnt seem in pain .... just wobbles. We got him 3 weeks ago, and i think he was just barely old enough to be sold.

Thank you for updating your location. It sounds to me like he is nodding slightly if he is moving back and forth. What is he bedded on? are there any air fresheners in the room?

He went back to the vet today, hes now on Baytril. We have Carefresh in the cage, and no air fresheners in the house.

Does the vet believe it's an infection? Have they given you probiotics at all? Baytril can be harsh on the gut.

He developed a clicking when he breathes, so they think its an infection. If the Bactril doesn't start helping in 2 days, we are supposed to go back for a different medicine.
