Hello all. I want to construct a 2nd level in the big cage that I have. Am wondering what to make this out of. Can i use the thin mdf, do you think this is safe (if they chew it) or should I use something more natural? Help much appreciated, thanks!

Absolutely huge massive no on the MDF. It contains formaldehyde and is exceptionally dangerous to humans if inhaled so goodness knows what it would do to a piggy if ingested.

As for safe woods I'm sure others will be able to help.

Ulrike MDF is Modified Dense Fibreboard, it's made from compressed cardboard & god only knows what else but i do know a mask has to be worn when cutting it because the dust is lethal
