Hi all. My husband's friend's daughter had two guinea pigs. One died yesterday. He called me to say that the pig didn't look well two days before and looked like he was fitting. It was all I could do not to go into one. Why the hell didn't they take the poor thing to the vet? Well now the poor thing is dead and he says the other one doesn't seem to be eating much. I said he's probably pining. They never looked after them properly and I really want to take the remaining one from him. He can't just live on his own outside. Problem is, I have three boars already and there's not really room in their cage for another (they live in our back bedroom). My husband will probably leave if I take on another as well. I don't want to advise them to get a younger friend for it because they won't look after it properly. ARGH! Maybe I should take him for a few days to make sure he's alright?

go for it, say you want to make sure he is not going to pine and you can keep an eye on him and know what to look for basically blag your way to getting him lol poor thing

I agree that if you can get this pig it def sounds best. Perhaps someone else could then take him permanently.

I'm more worried about the fact that you say your husband will leave you if you get another. :|

hmm now let me think about this..........

hubby or pig? mmmmm. Well I'll miss you hubby! ;D

If you do decide to go ahead with Operation Pignap, I would keep the new piggie in a different room from your others for a bit, just in case whatever-it-was that his brother died of is contagious. Maybe get him checked over by your vet?

I think I might PIGNAP him from their back garden!
Do it! If you think you can help the poor creature, then do what you can for him!

This concerned me as well. I hope you're not serious!

Nope not serious, hubby is lovely :)

Hubby is seeing him later and will hopefully bring piggie back with him. Fingers crossed!

Aww, good luck!

If piggy was fitting it could have been a Fungal prob and the other will need treating. It may not have been but but check for that.
