Hey everyone,

May be being a bit paranoid here, but can anyone give me advice on fleas/lice?
I'm not sure whether Poppy & Dora have them. I think I may be behaving like an over-anxious irrational new piggy mum!

As you can see from my pics, both my girlies are albino. I keep noticing the occasional really really reaaallly tiny black speck in their hair. So small you can barely see it. I only occasionally see them on the surface of the hair, I've checked both girls thoroughly looking at the roots of the hairs and their skin, and I can't see anything.

They are kept really clean and have been bathed once since I got them (they are 3 months old, we've havent had them long).
Am i just noticing bits of dust/fluff in their hair because they are white?

Does their behaviour change a lot when they have fleas or lice?
I remember my previous guinea pigs once getting some sort of lice but they were very noticeable and sort of yellow/see-through, easily seen with the naked eye.

I dont know, help!

Thanks

Saz & the girlies

With mites they scratch a lot and will get irratated by them. Mites look like white dandruff so probably just bits of dust you are seeing. All my piggies get bits on them all the time two are white and it is more noticeable it could just be bits out of the hay or bits of the dried food.

Lick are wriggly yellowy things so you would see them wriggling if they had them. Just keep an eye of them if they are very itchy / biting their rumps alot they could have mites.
