Poor bilbo has the beginnings of bumblefoot :( Frodo had this and i tried everything, he lived out thelast year of his life with it! Ive let him out for a wander and hes bobbing round on it fine! hes also eating normally. i did notice though that he doesnt squeek much. since hes been with me hes only ever done it twice. hes just been rumblestrtting at terry but not making the noise just the back and forth thing. All my other pigs are VERY vocal!

I adopted my Willow with bad bumblefoot :( I soaked her feet for a while in this chlorhexidine solution, and her bumblefoot has gotten a lot better :)

Sawdust will exacerbate.

Bumblefoot is a weakness (Vit C/stress/injury or other) that then causes baceterial infecton.

An anti-baterial (ie antibioitic) ...zithromycin would work best...bathe feet in chlorohexidin as you are doing. (It's anti-bacterial). But..You also need a vet prescription for a pretty hard-hitting aniibioic..

I'm ringing the vets in the morning to get an appointment. The lump on him needs looking at and obv his foot. Ive Just ordered him some vetbed so hopefully that will help, contemplating switching them all to it actually. I'd assume the vet would give him baytril?

I wonder if the bumblefoot has come on through stress. I'm his 3rd home (and last) and he has spent his entire life in a tiny cage he could barely move in. If thats not the reason i must be doing something wrong :(

our bad foot's gone due to this ointment. apply 3 times a day.
our problem was really bad and couldn't cure it with anything, this cream helped - needed to apply the cream for 3 months, but the pig is as new now! :) and it's photosensitive, so the piggies shouldn't be in direct sunlight X number of hours after the application (it'll be in the information sheet that comes with the cream). the tub lasts ages.

Been ringing round vets today. Got him an appointment for sat morning. the girl on the reception let me speak to the vet about her experience with pigs and arough idea of costs. She said she has piggies of her own which I'm very happy about and from what i said she reckons about £30 but might me more :)
