Worzel Gummidge Aka Mali...

Hi all,

My wee boy Mali was neutered a week ago and he has had his first vet check and all looks well - he has his final check this Friday and will gets his stitches out on Friday if they start to annoy him.

However, his is starting to smell a bit (not his wound) but as he has not has his usual hay bedding he has been coming in contact with his urine more and he stinks! I was wondering when I can give him a bath and haircut? - I know Guinea pigs feel better when they are clean so maybe I can take a damp cloth to his bum and coat? (not touching his wound obviously)

Any advice would be appreciated ...

Here he is back home four hours on from his op (Maybe you can see why I have started calling him Worzel Gummidge! ) ...

He is a stunner!

You can give him a careful wipe with baby warm water and a gentle haircut of any soiled hair provided he is not struggling/straining too much.

We went to the Vet last Friday and he got his all clear after his neutering (we've to go back only if we think something isn't right).

So we will still have 4 and a half weeks to wait until we can get him a wife!

The vets must have heard you saying he was good looking - they want to take his picture for their website!
