In the winter I move my guinea-pigs into the shed, normally I move their hutches in but Billy's hutch doesn't fit so I put him into an indoor cage. The indoor cage is a bit on the small side really and its broken a bit now anyway so I've been looking to get something else for him but I've remembered I've got some C&C grids in the shed which I could use. Do I have to have correx or can I just have a grid type cage? Sorry, this is the nearest photo I can find to what I want to make,

except the one I'd make for Billy would have grids the whole way round and be a bit bigger but it would be just grids, no correx, would that be Ok?

It looks a little on the small side to me. Maybe add another 2 grids if you have them?

As for correx, you probably want something down to protect your carpet from stains. Even a shower curtain will do it, I used one when I had a temporary cage set up on the floor of my bedroom, and it's cheap! Or a waterproof tablecloth.

I would make it bigger, I was just using the photo as an example of the kind of way it would be, but it would be a bit bigger and with grids all round. It would probably be 4 x 2. Do you think thats big enough or should it be a bit bigger? It's going in the shed and I'm going to put a big bit of wood underneath it, although it won't help much I think with newspaper then fleece on top it will be ok.

A c&c cage will hold no heat so thats why their indoor cages

Were in for a nasty winter, and even if in a shed its going to be sooo cold.

Last year all my piggys were in wooden hutches, filled with hay covererd in carpets towels & tarp inside my 8x6 shed & it was still awfully cold.

The only way i could see this working would be in a heated shed

could you make it 3x2 at least :)
instead of correx you could get a bit of lino or even get a couple of babys portable changing mats-can get them in poundland then put towels fleece etc on top-it just saves your floor geting wrecked

She said it would be 4X2. :)

I think it'd be fine, but yeah it wouldn't hold in heat, so you'd need to use something like a hidey house or cardboard box, stuffed with hay, for him to sleep in, aswell. I'm sure you were going to anyway. :)
