Would this work as a piggie play-place?

Sooooo, while we sort out our cage we are trying to figure out arrangements for piggie play-time. We can't easily guinea-pig-proof any of our rooms (plus we have the dogs), and since our apt. complex is dog-friendly, we can't use a pen on the lawn -- dogs pee on the grass and I understand that's dangerous. So we're looking for alternatives.

Robin spotted this as a possible indoor/outdoor piggie play-pen, and it seems like a good idea to me:

We might have to make some modifications (sewing over the low-level holes so they can't sneak out), but other than that... what do you experts think? Would something like this be suitable? Or are there inherent piggie dangers we're not seeing?

Thanks!
Aaron

it’s possible they’d chew holes in
it would also need a full set of absorbent bedding, how easy it is going to be to get bedding in/clean and to catch the piggies from inside it particularly when you’ve had to sew the holes up (not sure how easily sewing the holes up would be or whether piercing holes in it to sew it would make the material potentially more liable to tearing.
would you make sure the dogs arent in the room at the time piggies aren’t in it? It’s just that it offers no protection from impact, if somebody fell on it or a dog jumped on it for example, it would just collapse

All good point, thanks, Piggies&Buns. Esp. about making sure the big dog doesn't jump on the collapsible bits. It's an inexpensive enough piece that if it gets holey, we can just toss it.
