Wow! He looks like a renegade toupe! (Question about long haired breeds)

My coronet guinea pig, (S h a g g y) is getting very fluffy very quickly. His hair has grown almost and inch in 2 months.
I gave him a hair cut in the warmer weather, but plan to let it grow for the winter so he can be as warm as possible in the Canadian weather.

I was wondering, will his hair reach a certain length and stop growing, or will his hair just keep growing?

my peruvian cross' hair has reached a particular length, and only grows a tiny bit every so often, but it isn't noticible (sp?) , it grows quickly when i cut around his rear end.

BTW he is only about 1 1/4 years old, so i think the slow down is due to his fur stopping growing unless necessary (when it is trimmed).
