i might be getting 2 beautiful cresetd boys from my local rescue. they are 18mnths old elvis is about 11 mnths so will they get along?

I'm not sure if they will get along, (I am not that knowledgable about piggies yet) I think its just luck of the draw though, but I look forward to seeing the pics O0

The best thing to do is take Elvis along to the rescue and have them introduce him to the two boars..you will soon know if they are going to get along and it is completely neutral territory ;)

i will only be getting one and before i take him to the rescue with us we have to see them first. i have to convince my dad to get me another 1

Honestly, it is better to let Elvis choose his new friend..he may hate one but love the other one! Rescues are well up for this too O0
Come on Dad, let Elvis have a friend ;D

If you are only wanting to get one boar, then I think it would be better to choose an existing single one rather than taking one from a bonded pair.
I know this can be more difficult, since both rescues and pet shops will try to offer pigs in bonded pairs rather than as singles, but do try, because it would be rather unkind to split up a happy pair with no guarantee that either of them will bond with Elvis - and whichever one you don't choose will be left alone :'(

Well, as I say, if I were in your position (as I was in summer 2006 when Sammy's brother died) I would keep looking for a lonely single boar to pair up with Elvis. If you do this, the best case scenario result is that you end up with a happy new pair of friends - like Sam and Roo, who have been living together happily for just over a year now. But even if they don't bond enough to live together full-time, two single boars will enjoy having their cages side by side and talking to each other through the bars. They may even enjoy sharing your lap (like my Tom and Jez)
You will also have the happy knowledge that you have not split up an existing happy partnership.

Fingers crossed for you. O0

Sorry for the late reply.
It really depends what you can find in your area. Of course ideally it would be good to get a rescue pig, but for us that meant going some way out of area - over an hour's drive. Since you are dependent on your parents, this may not be possible for you. Another possibility is to ask around locally and check out the noticeboards in local shops/farm shops etc
Good luck!
