Hi, I was just wondering if yogurt drops were safe foe guinea pigs because when i got my guinea pigs i got them in the starter pack thing and iv been told that there not to good for them so i was just looking for some advice on here as i don't want my guinea pigs getting upset tummys ? :)

yeah i knew it wasn't everyday i just wasn't sure how often or that as they canny upset there tummys

thanks for telling me anyway. O0

Piggies are herbivores and their digestive systems aren't equipped to deal with anything involving dairy. As Jane said - veggie treats are best!

:) All mine have a yogurt drop every night and I have NEVER had a problem over the last 12 years. :)

You can make a choice for your pigs as you could for human children. A daily fry up or no daily fry up. It won't kill them but it's not good for them.

i think i will just leave the yogurt drops i wont healthy piggies O0

yogurt drops and the likes are just gimmicks made up by manufacturers so that they can sell you more stuff. :tickedoff: Guinea pigs do not need them! I am sure they would enjoy a fresh piece of fruit or veg more and it's better for them. :smitten: Leave them out.

I don't buy them either. A piece of fruit or something different like hay or grass is used as a treat. I have bought yoghurt drops when Sunshine was tiny and he did enjoy them but then I joined here and was educated. ;D

yeah me 2 i just joined on here yesterday and since then i have been told lots of information i never new so this place really helps me! :)

It wont damage them, since you got it in the starter pack by all means give it to them once in a while, its just like what junk food is to humans though, won't kill or harm us in small amounts but unhealthy if given to them all the time. Don't buy any more once they are finished.
