I was out running errands today and noticed a pet store that Ive never been in. So i stopped. So of course I had to take a look at all the guinea pigs, hold them play with them.. I notice while all the ones they had were younger they had an older female. The guy said she has been there for a while, I felt bad and she tugged my heart strings. Well so did one of the males, but I cannot afford another neutering at the moment. So meet my newest addition. She still needs a name so suggest away.... (she is really fat, could she be pregnant?) The smaller cage is going to have to do for a few weeks until I can introduce her to my other two piggies. I wasn't planning on adding to my piggy clan today.

Awwww she's gorgeous...

You never know if she could be preggers, defo best to keeper in quarantine for a while, I'm not well read or experienced on possible preggie pigs.

Hmmmm, names....I could be here all day. :))
 
Awwww. She's so sweet. I think she looks like a 'Pixie' or maybe 'Amber'. What are your other piggies called? Do you have a theme?

She's lovely hun, I would weigh her now and then again in a few days and take her to the vet if you're concerned about pregnancy. Then if she is post in the pregnancy section if you need advice/questions answering, there's lots of people with experiences of pregnancies. Good luck :)
 
Aww she is a beautiful girl. How lovely you rescued her from being in the pet shop.

I would definitely reccomend recording her weights, just incase there is a chance she is pregant, hopefully not! :...
 
Congratulations on your new little one. Make sure she's eating and drinking okay I'd suggest taking her to a vet for a health check to make sure there is no underlying issues (you never know with petshops!). Start keeping a diary on her weights, and don't over feed her esp. with possible pregnant piggles.

Fingers crossed hopefully she has been lucky and not pregnant.

Please start a thread in our pregnancy section if you suspect one; this section is regularly monitored by experienced members and you can get all the necessary information.

I did look at her and cause of her colouring thought Chocolate she is like a velvet Chocolate x)

She was at the shop for so long the guys nicknamed her Hersey, but I am not liking the name. My boyfriend said she has been hiding in her box all day and hasn't moved hardly. I had to go to work for the evening as soon as I got her cage ready and posted. Doesn't look like she has eaten or drank anything. May see if my vet will make time for her tomorrow.

Name wise we do have a theme going on, my daughters favorite cartoons. Our other two are named Max and Ruby after the nickelodeon cartoon. I was thinking of other girl names from cartoons: Oona, Molly, Deema, Milly, Dora, Isa... I am not listening to my boyfriend who wants to name her Turd.
 
Reily, what a gorgeous name! Glad to hear she isn't pregnant too, that must be a weight off your mind! :)
 
surprising enough my boyfriend named her, they have bonded. when i said we needed a name before he met her and i told him she was all brown. glad he picked something more mature and suiting of her.
 
I was going to suggest godiva...since she is the dark chocolate color such as thier icecream or chocolates. or mouse (moose not mouse the animal)...but youve already picked a fab name! Congrats she is lovely
 
Haha, I love the second picture with her little chicken legs all over the place! She looks like a Bella to me :)
