Hi just wondered if you can give me your opinions on the following indoor houses! I am considering the Zoozone critter home but also looking at the Skyline Maxi XXL which seems similar to the Ferplast cage!>

definitely the Maxi! It's bigger and it's much better with bars than the plastic, I think... It will be easier to interact with the piggies and with the maxi you could even put a loft in which would be difficult with the zoozone one.

I had a zoozone cage but got rid of it cos i preferred the extra space and better view (lol) through the bars of the Maxi XXl

my boys seem to enjoy the extra space too, lots of popcorning!

I find ZooZone's quite flimsy, so I would always go with Ferplast. I have 2 Ferplast guinea pig cages just now, albiet as hamster cages, but all the same, they are sturdy and strong. Very spacious too.

Hi thanks so much for all your replies. I had been considering the critter plastic one due to the fact that my brother has lung problems (he doesn't live with me but does visit!) I had also thought it would create less mess as it has plastic base and sides and only bars at the top! I'm taking all your comments on board though so thanks! Do guinea pigs need bars to climb up? Still lots to learn!

no, piggies don't climb...

If you're concerned about mess you could look at fleece or vetbed bedding rather than shavings or carefresh/megazorb maybe?

Most of the time you'r brother won't be at your place, perhaps you can keep the cage in a room where he won't spend much time? A cage with bars only at the top will be less ventilated which could be a problem during hot weather. Pros and cons with everything :)

I think there are pics of it in the for sale section in general chat.

I use fleece in my indoor cage and my girlies much prefer it to woodshavings :)

Do you know what size the Zoozone is as 1 piggy will need at least 3' and two at least 4' x 2'

Ferplast do plastic ones too, the Ferplast Multi, but really its quite small for guinea pigs, it could only really be a base.
