I’ve tried all sorts, tea bag/ card/ auboise/shavings/vet bed/fleece but I always come back to my favourite Fitch paper bedding. It’s lovely and soft not dusty it’s like care fresh but bigger chunks and cheaper. It is quite expensive as you buy in bulk but now I’ve only got one cage it lasts...
I have been given half a sack by my friend who has recently lost an aged guinea pig and a hamster in rapid succession but I forgot to ask which one she used it for - maybe it was both. Anyone got any experience of this stuff? It just looks like chopped bits of absorbent white paper (too small...
I’m using a mixture of vet bed in the main cage, and Fitch (recycled paper bedding) in a litter tray. The Fitch goes in the compost bin with any old hay, and I wash the vet bed in a horse bag, which might help with microfibres? We have a fairly big compost bin, though I am conscious about...

It seems bedding wise, fleece in a shed doesn’t really work, so having done some research, I’m looking at Easibed or Fitch paper bedding. The question (to anyone who might use either of these products) is around how much are you putting down in a hutch and how long does a bag...
Never had one that went for a sprout... even the ones that liked other brassicas.
Louise keeps trying to eat this Fitch paper bedding (even though she can't bite through it) and I sit watching her for ages with a lump hanging from her mouth trying to chew a piece off. It never works, she ends...
I used it on its own in the main parts of the cage (a fairly thick layer) and under the hay in the loft. It is very absorbent and it is easy just pick out the wet patches each day and then top up with a bit more Fitch. I never saw them eat any of it but that doesn't mean they didn't.
...they got lice! 😮 And i mean EVERY time. I tried it over different years and different colours.
Anyways, in regards to paper bedding I love Fitch!

...get on with them) but having 5 large cages it get a bit expensive! I'm looking for a dust free alternative if thats possible. I have also used Fitch before but that got expensive too. I have read through the bedding section but I'm still not too sure what to use. I prefer paper based bedding...
Yes from Fitch First or from them via Amazon. It's very absorbent so it's ok to lay down without putting it on newspaper but I did put it on newspaper to make clean up easier. Then yes add hay. I use fleece at the moment but use fitch if away for a few days so pet sitter doesn't need to clean...
...stopped moving around as much and spent a lot of time just sitting. They didn't seem very happy. Also the house smelled of guinea pig wee.
Fitch - Not bad but it seemed to clag together so we ended up chucking a lot away considering we were spot cleaning all the poos and wees twice a day...
Has anyone used Carefresh Natural paper fibre small pet bedding (white) from P@H, I normally use Fitch but struggling to get this at the moment, is this a similar product? Thank you
