    Shimmer and Saffron

My indoor only piggies must smell grass growing all around. I have wheatgrass in my window box which they can have. The local grass might not be safe though and I don't know if they are used to eating lots of grass, so we keep to moderate amounts🌾

    bladder problem veggies too feed?

Do they get pellets? They need some calcium so I feed a little wheatgrass or parsley once a week and my boy who gets no pellets gets forage twice a week.

    Foxgloves and outdoor time

...I guess my Q is: is there a safe distance from potential foxgloves, or would you treat this as a complete no-go? I've so far pot-grown wheatgrass for my girls so they can have the joy of fresh grass. I'm happy to keep doing this, but I'd love for them to have a few enrichment sessions...

    Truffle and Polo

Stripe has one clear pee today. It's normal to have some chalky, but not every one. Stripe is down to seven pellets so he can relate! Chez won't touch them so he gets forage twice a week and wheatgrass twice a week.

She has a little bit of fresh wheatgrass from a pot at the moment as we don’t have a garden, but after some slightly clumpy looking poos overnight i held that back today. Some of her...

    @Adelyn's Piggies

So we’ve finally had a day that wasn’t scorching hot - the guinea pigs got to go and have outdoor grass time :D I grow my own wheatgrass because I don’t really trust the grass in my yard - we live near a forest and there are a lot of animals that pass through. Here are the piggies enjoying...

    Growing grass indoors

...good air flow. I grow it in pots close to the house in the winter where it is more sheltered than the lawn. I have had some success with wheatgrass indoors in a shallow tray of compost but I have 8 piggies and the seed is expensive so I gave up with it as I didn't have room indoors to grow...

Oxbow or science selective urinary care?

ahhh okay that makes sense actually, i didnt think of it that way. I will give her a little more calcium and see how she goes for sure. Do you think the daily wheatgrass that I grow is okay?

...started really enjoying green beans after thinking they were suspicious. Now we crunch them down. We're enjoying orchard hay, it's fat. Wheatgrass is always a treat. There's a new leak in the basement! Plumber coming for an estimate but the last plumber said definitely not an emergency...

    Calcium balance

Stripe eats a tablespoon of pellets a day but Chesney doesn't like pellets. The boys get forage twice a week and a small handful of wheatgrass twice a week. Since Chesney doesn't eat pellets should I increase his calcium veg? Are they getting enough calcium, too much? Keep reading on here...

...day off but one appointment and should clean the house and do last year's weeds. She's looking into buying a drip catcher for under my water bottle as the fleece pee pad was soaked this morning. I did one single zoom towards my pellets, but we've had some calcium pee so no wheatgrass this week.

Please help with figuringout ongoing health issue

I’ve seen a bit of mucus yesterday in her poop, first that I’ve noticed for a while. I stopped her wheatgrass since I found out it’s really high in calcium, I was feeding it twice / 3 times a day. I think she seems a little better since, and I’ve been giving her fibreplex daily which seems to...

    Diet - what veggies?

...I'd give it. So you can give those daily as they are low calcium. But you don't want to give two little calcium either, so I give mine wheatgrass or basil or parsley once or twice a week. Chez doesn't eat pellets so he gets forage twice a week. You only want to give a tablespoon of pellets...

The boys will get a special treat of wheatgrass when I go to the store today. It's their weekly calcium treat. I said, Miss, was Chesney bad for his nail trim.. she said he squeaked. Honestly the vet didn't do much I don't do on the weekly health check. I'm not sure she felt his bladder. But...

    Feeding Fruit/Veg Scraps to Save

Oh sorry! I meant more so as a smaller portion of the diet. Things like lettuce, wheatgrass, cucumbers, and celery are the main portion of their veg, but I like adding herbs, sometimes fruit etc. For that smaller portion, I was wondering how suitable and how often certain fruit and vegetable...

...running around jumping way into the air! We just love cage cleaning day. Chez was wiggly for his health check but I gained 25 grams since last week. I'm at 1030. At my healthiest I was 1100. So I'm on my way. I don't get any support feeding. Then, as if it wasn't good enough, we got wheatgrass!
