...concerned about the damage that they could do staying in there. Do you think that he could just keep talking antibiotics and be okay without surgery? I have also seen oxbowurinarysupport pills that I was curious as to if they would help him at all, not sure if any of you know about those or...
@Helen82 if you're still looking for some, I found them on animed direct this morning. I've ordered some for my two 🙂 everywhere else still seems to have none in stock.
Oxbow Natural Science UrinarySupport for Small Animals
Thank you so much, I absolutely adore you!
I'll look into filtering the water. In our area it's very, very soft, for example my husband's old washing machine lasted him 20 years... But it can't hurt!
I was definitely overfeeding them kale in the past, nowadays I only give them a bit as a...
Hi and welcome
BIG HUGS
I am very sorry.
It always comes as a massive shock to us when we suddenly come face to face with the realisation that the life of one of our piggies may be coming to the end. The emotional upset is because this is in fact the moment when your grieving process kicks in...
...cystitis piggy. The vet said it was small and would pass out, and to give loxicom twice daily and to go back on Thursday. Does that seem OK?
She's good apart from that, no arthritis or ovarian cysts, teeth good. Should I put her on Oxbowurinarysupport or anything?
Is she a little plump...
I had a look at the glucosamine amount in the oxbow joint support lozenges George is enjoying (90) and in their urinarysupport version (45) and I give my chunky girl 1/2 an arthritis lozenge every day now. She had no serious issues but was passing very gritty pee and I noticed the other girl...
...remains moist due to dripping urine. Pink urine happens every few days but mostly remain cloudy.
I have since started her on oxbowurinarysupport and vit c tabs. Plus few slices of cucumber a day to increase fluid. She's also on grain free nuggest and premium timothy hay. Treats are all hay...
Nancy unfortunately refuses to eat the oxbow yellow ones.
I would like her to try antibiotics, I asked last week. But I will ask again, as she is getting worse rather than better so maybe the vet will be more inclined to try now. I'm actually quite worried about her. Interesting to hear you...
Hi
I am very sorry for your problems.
Is your vet monitoring his sludge? Has it got worse? Please be aware that a diet too low in calcium can also cause problems. There is a sweet spot in the diet where the balance is correct and stable. How bad is the sludge? If the bladder is packed, then...
I've kept my 7yrs old boy on oxbowurinarysupport instead of cystease (pain to syringe) after his UTI. Anyone knows if there's a difference in how effective they are?
All I can add is a vote for oxbow joint support lozenges ('cookies' as some folks call them) which contain glucosamine and have worked wonders for 5 year old George's arthritis. He was nibbling at his sore joints which resulted in hair stuck in his teeth and hair loss round his knees... but not...
Thank you 😊 sorry to hear about your lovely girl, sounds like she's getting a lot of TLC from you though.
Cystease will be here tomorrow and yes, will try to avoid GA!
Do you think blending hay, carrots and water would be ok? (If not totally unpalatable!) I do see him eating some hay and his...
Hi everyone....is this the correct product for IC?

Our vet has only recommended Oxbow joint support...
I used to give my boy Oxbow joint support biscuits (purple on pack) - just online from amazon or something. They also do a Urinarysupport one (yellow on pack). But they are the same price and the purple had twice as much glucosamine as the yellow (90mg instead of 45mg) which is more like the...
what oxbow suppliment would you guys recommend for daily use? we want to include them as treats in our guinea pigs diet everyday but we’re unsure on what ones. there’s digestive support , multi vitimans , vitiman c , urinarysupport and skin&coat. there’s also joint support but our piggies are...
...red/green leaf lettuce, all colors of bell pepper, cucumber, grass, occasional carrot/apple, filtered water, and 1/2 a tab of Oxbowurinarysupport every day. I have been giving him these tabs for about 1 year now and haven't really seen any improvement in his pee, does anyone have any...
thankyou so so much for your in depth reply i really really do appreciate it!
we are on our way to the vets now so we are unsure as of yet if its another UTI, i just wrote this post to be prepared. she has had a stone before when she was very young hence why i’m thinking these sort of problems...
...that I can be doing to stop the excess calcium? Are there any medications I should be asking his vet about? I also saw the oxbowurinarysupport tablets and I'm wondering if anyone has seen an improvement with those. I'm very sad that his health and happiness only lasted for such a short time...
I'm so sorry Larry, I've no experience with thickened bladders - just with standard stones and UTIs. I do know the oxbowurinarysupport tablets only have 45mg glucosamine whereas the joint support have 90mg so it's good you have cystease too. This post will likely be no help at all!
George's...
