    Guinea Pig Pellets

I give mine about 1 tablespoon of nuggets per day, shared between 2 piggies. The like Science Selective Grain free. By limiting the pellets as I do a bag lasts a very long time.

The boys try a new urinary biscuit tomorrow as Stripe's getting tired of the science selective. It's oxbow. Hope they like it. They have been on urinary biscuits and limited pellets for a year. Chez doesn't even like pellets. They get calcium in their forage and basil three times a week.

    Sick pig advice?

If you are going to get Science Selective (the only one my piggies will eat) you need the Recovery Plus as it has added Vitamin C in it which aids recovery.

Help with diet- amounts of veg and pellets

I’ve recently gotten 3 10 week old sows, and I’m confused on the quantity of pellets to feed them, with my two older boars they get a 1/4 cup scoop of science selective pellets, but I’m not sure how much to feed my sows. I have this same question about veg

    Advice on UTI

...feed dry forage instead of nuggets or can you do both? Their currently on the Piggie parcels nuggets. I have weaned them off the science selective nuggets because of the alfalfa base, not sure it will make much difference. I’m just not sure if I can feed dry forage as well as nuggets. I think...

    Urinary health and calcium build-ups

I bought a water filter for my piggies as it reduces calcium in the water. I also buy Science Selective Grain-Free pellets which have reduced calcium.

    Pellets

What is the best type of pellets to get for almost 1 year old guinea pigs? They have had selective natural grain free, and science selective garden variety. But what is the best for them.

Looking at trying piggie parcels pellets? Anyone tried them?

Mine didn’t like the PP nuggets, even though I mixed them with their usual Science Selective grain free nuggets and gradually swapped them out. In the end we went back to just the SS ones which I scatter around for them to find. Mine get 1 tablespoon between the 2 of them. Although they didn’t...

    Pellets

I give mine Science Selective grain free nuggets which they love. As I only give them about a tablespoon to share they’re not overeating pellets

Pebble is off to the vets

Yayy for the little weight gain - amazing news! Mine have never liked CC, I've always used either Science Selective Recovery Plus or the Burgess Dual Care. The Science selective one seems to be better for weight gain but alfalfa is one of the ingredients so I do try to limit it especially as...

Looking at trying piggie parcels pellets? Anyone tried them?

I’ve tried them and my piggies have 1 spoon of them and 1 spoon of science selective ( grain free) - they prefer the ss ones bu5 eat the piggy parcel ones. That sounds a good idea then after a week or two do half and half and you’ll know then if your piggies like them

...would be good but will see. Her pee is so so cloudy and the vet did say last time there was a lot of sediment in there. I’m gonna go to filtered water and maybe try different nuggets? Currently using science selective, which I believe are alfalfa-based based. Sorry, can’t think how to spell it!

    Boars in Stockholm (Kongos diary)

Actually.... Yes. They act like I give them gold, I have to know what the fuzz is about! I usually give my boys Science selective grain free and have done for a couple of years. They taste quite boring. I wanted to change to Oxbows but Kongo and Harry said never. I do understand. Yesterday when...

Alternative to Science Selective Vetcare Urinary Health?

We have been feeding our bladder stone prone piggie (and her 2 cage mates) the above instead of pellets, but I have just discovered that it has been discontinued. Has anyone got any suggestions of other low calcium/oxalate, grain free feed? Thank you (and Pigture of the silly pig)
