Hello, I'm new...
I had two guinea pigs, Darwin and Harvey.
A few months ago Darwin died of Pneumonia,I'm still really sad and so is Harvey.
He's getting verry lonely and I was wondering if I should get him neuterd to be put with a female or get another male.
I'd prefer not to get him castrated but if he'd be happier I'm willing.
What would be best?

if you wanted another male there are alot of rescues that do boar dating where they help you find the perfect pig for your boy as obviously not every boar pair will get on, so if you don't want to get him neutered it is possible to get him a guy friend, and after the operation i think it's a few weeks till he could go with females anyway :)

So sorry you lost a piggie, so many of us have been through this too lately. As mentioned, boar dating is a great way of getting a friend for Harvey and being sure its the right friend. Also, the back up and advice for life that is offered by a rescue is a fantastic support, I know I've used it more than once! whereabouts are you? We might be able to reccomend somewhere within easy reach :)
 
I saw on the other post your from Essex, are you close to Chelmsford?

You could try blackberry patch in Chelmsford, I don't know if they have single boys but if they do they should be able to help you pick out a boy that will suite your needs, I din't think they do boar dating though.
