I set up my camcorder in the dining room this morning as I always hear my 10 pigs making noise while I prepare their greens.

I have never managed to see what they get up to until now!

I love the cage, the pigs, the bed, the blue sheep cosy, the shelf, and their little doorway! Everything about that setup is just wonderful.

The pigs all look and sound very excited for breakfast. The happy popcorning is great!

I never seem to be able to run you tube vids on my computer! The static picture looks great though. Do your piggies actually sleep in the bed? its cute x

Oh thats precious! Lovely cage! love the little door! Cute! :D

Thanks

Aww, thanks for all the lovely comments...yes, they are actually spoiled rotten.

There are 3 of them that use the bed to sleep in, I have a cushion pad that one of them actually uses as a pillow it's adorable, I'll have to see if I can get a pic of her and post it. There are always about 3 or 4 sleeping under it as well.

Amazing set up! Were did you get that bed? so cute! Love it all, what lucky piggies x>>

Oh wow oh wow oh wowx)x)x) What a beautiful gang of piggies and all that popcorning and wheekingdrool Lovely!xx>>>

What a fantastic group of piggies and a wonderful set up.

If I am not mistaken the bed looks identical to some we have which came from Ikea - I have two in my loft now the girls have outgrown them, I never thought to use them for the pigs! Note to self to go rummaging expedition!:)

No, I can't see you tube either, but thought it was just me. Is it because I'm on (slow) dialup and not broadband?

What an amazing set up!

My 2 indoor piggies were wheeking along with your little ones when I played the clip!

Amazing set up, wish I could do the same but can't see my OH agreeing to such a lavish pad! I'm so jealous! Great piggies as well, they look so happy...

wow *** a fab cage- although confused, do they have the run of your house? pancake has settled in well enough with me i feel comfortable enough to leave her cage door open when I'm in the room, ive made a bridge so she can get in and out without stumbling! bless her. she literally gallops around the room and hops back into her leopard print hammock (little boudiour!)
your piggies are gorge and live in luxury!

Thank you all for your lovely comments, it's great to hear such support... to answer some of your questions:

I do realise how lucky I am with the cage space, the OH is very supportive...he gave up on the idea of having a 'functional' dining room a long time ago :-)

Yep, the bed is from the toy section in Ikea...it cost about £9 and serves pretty well as a bed and shelter alike. We've only had it a couple of weeks but they certainly seem to love it.

The girls do sort of have the run of the house. The kitchen and dining room are adjoining and open plan, but we shut the 2 doors into the hall so they can only run around in the 2 rooms. They hardly come into the kitchen in normal conditions, except a couple of the more cheeky ones that want first dibs on the food while I'm prepping their dishes :-)

They're actually very clean with the whole free range thing (much cleaner than we thought they would be at first) and fairly responsible about knowing where 'their area' is. We don't get any nesting outside; it's just out for a wee wander, then back to the cage when they want to sleep, eat, drink, poo or pee (which is quite often).

It was somewhat bumpy to begin with; i.e. making the place piggy safe by removing any trailing wires, shaping the cage and things in the room such that there are no cosy dark corners or corridors underneath radiators for them to hide in :-) I'm sure you can imagine.

I'm absolutely loving that some of your piggies were screaming along with the video, that's absolutely fab to hear!

Thanks again for all the kind comments, I will post some more vids once we get the time to film.
G'night!

that's such a great vid. my piggies have learnt the sound of the knife on the chopping board so as soon as i start preparing their veg in the kitchen (next to the pig room) they all start shouting. it's lovely.

and our dining room is not used for dining either. far better to have a guinea pig room anyway :o)

So so cute would love to see a video of them finally getting there meal..

Superb set up Ly and what a fantastic video.

Love to you and Ryan.

Thanks Helen! Lots of love to you too. Did you spot Zoe running the laps (look for the grey pig with the white back legs :-)? She's a happy wee sow!

*steals your set up and pigs* Mine would LOVE that. If I could get my garage heated I would do that for them in a shot.
