One of my girls, Popcorn, has always been the heaviest of the bunch but at 11 months old she steadied at about 1kg a few weeks ago. Now, she’s gained 120g since last week’s weigh in. I’m aware that 30-40g can be normal to account for full/empty bladder etc but 120 seems a little high.
The girls get 1 handful of pellets per day between the three of them, unlimited hay and the amount of veggies recommended in the feeding guide here, split into two or three portions throughout the day. Popcorn does not hog the food; I watch the girls eat and everyone gets their share. At 11 months old, could she be going through a growth spurt? Thank you very much for reading

Please double check the gender of your piggies and double check the scales. ;)

That is an unusually high weight gain indeed.

All definitely girls! Weighed her three times to make sure and every time showed 1120g, I’m at a loss!

Just see how it goes. I would not worry as long as she is well and normally active in herself.

Keep an eye on her in case she is showing signs of not being quite well/quieter than usual/slightly lethargic and see a vet promptly.

Thank you so much for your reply, I’ll keep an eye on her but she seems well in herself so far, hopefully it’s nothing and she’ll steady out at this weight :) I don’t want a monster pig on my hands!
