Alan will happily sit on me and cuddle up and he is 2yrs old ish but Oscar is so lively I am finding it hard to have lap time with him!

Any help/suggestions?

I tend to let him run around the large sofa we have whilst I sit at the side hoping he doesn't jump off! He is also nibbling and kind of shakes me off if I try to pet him!

You have probably already tried this but is he calmer in a snuggle sac or a towel? My two young boars are v skittish but are v happy to be stroked if they are in a sac - v jumpy if they are 'free'.:)

Also feeding favourite veg whilst on you - if eating, less likely to move fast:))
Sorry if you have tried those already but goodluck!

Don't worry, mine do this too! Wrap them up in a towel/cuddle sac and feed them their favorite treat. After a while he should calm down.

Thanks guys!

I had him in a blanket but he wriggled and wriggled and nibbled so much I had to put him back. I think once I get my C&C cage sorted this week they can then go out in the run outdoors for a bit. Get him to burn off some energy! :))

He doesn't appear nervous as already (Have had him less than a week) he lets me stroke his head and cheeks from above. They are currently bonding in a large run in my kitchen so he is tame. I just think he is a little monkey and very excitable!

Hi, my 16 week old is like this. I think he's just too busy for cuddles, hes not scared just ultra playful! He will climb over me and let me stroke him when HE wants, he will take food from me. Sometimes if he is very busy he is like 'get off mummy i'm playing' :(|) I have decided he is like a human toddler who has too much to investigate to sit still, and I dont worry about it. So long as he continues to be confident around me i am happy :)) I reckon he will mellow with age, and be ultra intelligent! Sounds like your chap will be too eh? x)

This sounds just like Oscar!

Lets keep out finger's crossed for each other! I'm currently trying to bond Oscar with a very mellow, yet previously dominant, 2 year old so keep them crossd for that too! :))

The youngsters will calm down in time. Having something to sit still in helps as do lots of praise for the right behaviour. On the other hand, it's fun to watch them being busy to explore their surroundings and playing. They will be calmer adults for most of their life and you may think back to their antics with a feeling of nostalgia eventually... ;)

Yes very true. I'm sure Alan and Barry were once the same. I just hope so much he doesn't continue to annoy Alan so much!

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to keep the little one amused while Alan is trying to sleep?! He is in his hidey and Oscar is just running around like a little loon! He is popcorning, nibbling hay, coming up to the bars then running off like a cheeky child! :))

They have already had their treats and veg today and as I am introducing him slowly I don't want to give him anymore in a toilet roll!

I dont but, again like yours, my Jem tries to sleep but the baby is always being noisy and pestering him! I dont worry about it, i doubt it bothers them. Spike brings him so much fun and if they are seperted Jem is frantic. It will settle down :(|)
