ZiggyStarPig
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi Everyone, my trio are doing great & I've had a busy weekend with them training me to be their servant! No longer do I get up in the morning & make myself a nice coffee, I get up and serve them!
My outdoor run hasn't been delivered, I really hoped it would have arrived yesterday. The weather has turned cooler here so it's okay. The room they're in is a lovely temperature
I still haven't handled them. I sit in the run & talk to them, they sniff around me and seem comfortable with me being there. I'm going to take it really slowly. I'm not sure if it's the right thing to do but I've cancelled them getting their nails clipped on Wednesday. I thought I'd leave it another couple of weeks until they are happy being handled. I was worried about Teddy's being too long but she's running about like crazy & isn't showing any signs of discomfort. All 3 are eating from my hand & Teddy lets me stroke her. I haven't touched Ziggy and Duke yet but I can see they are becoming more trusting.
The tips in the forum about the Guinea Pig body language have been so much help. When I go in the run the first thing I do is pretend I'm grooming myself & they all respond by doing the same thing then start to run around happily.
I think they are having mad parties during the night! I go to bed and everything is neat and tidy. Get up in the morning and they've wrecked the place. Hay everywhere, towels pulled off the bed boxes, everything shoved about. I need to film them overnight to see this vandalism in action!
