I am curious, before i adopted ditto from my OT little sister, he was living with another boar who died, unsure of circumstances. I have since read that guineapigs prefer to live with other piggys rather than alone, however a sales girl at my local pets at home said as ditto has lived alone for more than a year and is over 3 years old he wouldnt accept another guineapig into his territory (cage) and they would more than likely fight? I hate to think hes lonely and his cage is huge so would be large enough to house another piggy .. Opinions pls?

My opinion is boars can be bonded as long as they choose their own friend. Many pet shops will say they fight as they house them in too small cages which does lead to fighting or they have paired them with two boars instead of one. Only two boars can live together and no more. I would take him to a rescue were he can choose his own friend. I think it would be lovely to have him a friend of his own. It is worth a try.

Definitely try boar dating at a rescue! My 2 boars were rescued at different times from awful conditions and had never been with another guinea pig until I bonded them so it can be done.

Good luck! :)

Pets at home told me that Troy would have to live forever on his own due to a disability. He is happily living with another boar after I took him boar dating!

They don't leave each others sides!
