Right, so one of Maisies babies, Captain Jack, isn't very well. He has a wound down by his genitals, between them and his leg, it is open and bleeding - took him to the emergency vet and she has cleaned it and out vaseline on it and told me to do the same for a few days until he is a bit stronger, then she may glue it. I have no idea how it happened, there is nothing sharp in the cage, the only thing I can think of is mum bit him?
This little baby has one eye that is cloudy and one that is tiny and not open at all - there is an eye in there but I don't think it works at all.
He isn't interested in mum and isn't half as energetic as his siblings - he tends to sit in one spot all by himself.
He's in the hutch tonight, the bedding is fleece. i was going to bring them inside so I could keep an eye on him but don't want to stress mum out by changing her surroundings. ..is this best?
Basically, what do I do? Shall i attempt to hand feed him? If so, what should I feed him? What else should I be doing?
I really don't want to lose him :(

Suzy to the rescue :)) what would we do without her! Glad you're ok and know what to do now :)

Currently trying to get him to feed on a pellet mash, he's had a little and he's just fallen asleep wrapped up in a fluffy sock cuddled into my lap. He hasn't excreted anything yet despite me cleaning his bottom with cottom wool but will keep trying.

Well he's made it through the night :) he was a bit cold this morning, but he had some little poops on his bottom which I have cleaned and he's eaten a little bit more pellet mash today. I'm going to try and get some Lactol after work today.

Have you considered using a heated pad? you can buy them .........if not maybe some more snuggly blankies to keep him warm ?

I have heard of people using hot water bottles under blankets or under the cage, this willhelp keep him warm. Fingers crossed for him x
