My wife and I have done some searching online and have found no real awnser. We have to females and the more submissive one is very close to me. My wife and kids got them without my permission and when no one would spend time bonding with them because they were scared I spent time daily with them. They appear to generally get along, there are scuffles but no one is ever bite or anything like that. Until I am holding both of them. If I am holding either one, the more cage submissive one becomes very territorial over me. She doesn't like my kids to try to take her from me and will constantly try to come to me if I am around. If the other one is involved, everything is fine unless I'm involved. The submissive one will nip, mount, chatter teeth you name it. The other one just accepts it and doesn't try to defend her self. But when they are returned to the cage, they go back to normal. I'm not too concerned that anyone is going to get hurt just curious if anyone else has experienced owner bonding like this. Thanks

Yep, I've been there with my original pair of pigs, Linney and Frenzy. Linney was a REALLY dominant pig and she did not share the humans! She would get really aggressive towards Frenzy if I held them both at the same time. We just solved the problem by holding pigs one at a time... no one got bitten and I got one-on-one time with each pig. My later pigs have generally been more laid back than Linney and it's less of a problem, but I still generally hold one pig at a time.

It kind of amuses me to know that Linney clearly thought that she 'owned' us and didn't want other pigs nosing in on 'her' humans!

Our boar Theo owns his piggy daddy, when we first got Theo he was a very lonely little boy, his previous owners kept him alone and ignored him or shouted at him, so all through his quarantine 2 weeks and post-neutering 6 weeks he practically lived inside piggy daddy's jumper! Piggy daddy is not allowed to cuddle or even talk to our other boar Ollie (who has a different cage with his wife) if Theo's around, and if Theo sees piggy daddy give Ollie a snack he gets very upset!

Bill and Ted are quite competitive to head stroking. As soon as I stroke one, the other one will stick his head next to my hand and nudge me as if saying “don’t stroke him, stroke me” It makes me laugh 😆 its all done quite friendly, particularly Ted seems to do it, but Bill does it too
