Hi
My 2 females have not pooped today (only 3 ish poops) and I’m a bit concerned.
I have added sprouts to their diet recently but haven’t changed anything else.
I have now stopped giving them sprouts.
I’ve only had them 2 months so I am quite new to this.
Any advice?
Thanks

Hi!

Please do not feed sprouts. They are high in sulfur and can cause bloat, in some cases severe bloat.
Please check their tummies for signs of it and see a vet if necessary.

Thank you. I wasn’t told sprouts were ok for them in small quantities.how do I check them for bloating?

Welcome.

My 2 piggies have been getting sprouts regularly for about 2 weeks. This is due to a recall of romaine lettuce a couple of weeks ago over e.coli outbreaks in the US and Canada.
Over the two weeks they have been fed sprout, my Finn and Lara have been pooping more than ever so I just wondered if yours are getting plenty of hay, and some pellets as well. I also think lack of food could contribute to lack of poop.

I have just been up to check if they are bloated and they have pooped! Quite a bit so I think all’s good now. Don’t seem bloated either x

Will be keeping an eye on them for a few days x
