I hope I've posted this in the right section...

So as some of you may have noticed earlier in the week I fell in love with 2 guinea pigs in the adoption centre from my local Pets At Home, an old indoor rabbit cage was very kindly donated to me (my mom owns 3 house rabbits, so far XD and she had a spare cage) So today I decided to move my room about, set up the cage and popped up to Pets At Home, but the guinea pigs I originally fell in love with had been adopted friday, I felt a little sad, but also happy that they found a nice new home :) And right next to where they were these pair were playing.

I fell in love all over again, so this time I decided to take no chances and adopted them asap :)) They were only 10 months old, had never been out of their original cage, they're so skittish at the moment (especially the smooth haired one) and the owner hadn't even bothered naming them. My mom had come along and she was actually fighting back the tears when the shop assistant was telling us their story.

At the moment they're in the indoor cage, it has a level in it and I've put plenty of hay in the undersection for them to bury into, once they get brave enough to come out and are used to me moving around the room I'm going to set up a run for them out of nic cubes, I'm playing about with the idea of making it long and wide and making a level in the far end of it for them to play on.

I'll be popping into town early tomorrow to stock up on veg, or we will be having very grumpy bunnies if I keep stealing their veggies XD And I was just wondering if there's any veggies or treats and toys that guinea pigs in general love? (A bit like rabbits with fenugreek :)))

Also not too sure what to rename them, my OH likes Chewie and Jawa, my mom likes Bubble and Squeak and I like Cookie and Patch XD But I'm no good with naming pets, I think of something and then change my mind soon after, so any ideas will be very muchly appreciated :)

Awwww, they're beautiful x)x) I'm not good at naming pets either :)) I usually just name them after Harry Potter characters :))

They are soooooo beautiful x) pretty ladies!

Haha I love all your piggies names, I must admit I'm warming up to calling the long haired one chewie (short for chewbacca) XD

Haha, yes it is! :) It's better to have a piggies named Hairy Potter, Bellatrix, and Nearly Hairless Nick (my 1st hairless piggy! :))) than a piggy named Yoda :))

I love star wars! :)

i contemplated calling one of mine yoda :))

My OH gave korben his middle name (zeus) and travis his (gandalf) lol x

they are gorgeous boys btw

They're lovely piggies, congratulations on becoming their slave :)) Piggies love parsley as a treat, but only occasionally as it can cause bladder stones, and my two aren't very adventurous with veggies, so their favourite is the humble carrot, and occasionally they love a strawberry too xox

Oh wow - they're gorgeous x) Sooo pleased you have given these boys a great home.
Sure you'll think of names soon, sometimes you see them do something and a name appropriately pops into your head rolleyes
Look forward to hearing how they settle into their new home with you :)p

My Piggies are named Tallulah and Penelope, hehee. I'm not good at names either, but I like unique names, that are cute.
Good luck with them, and I hope they live a long, happy and healthy life! :-)

Haha I learnt today how much my piggies love carrot, they went from being shy and very timid to popcorning (I think that's what it's called) and eating out my hand, and now they have finally found their voices and seemed to have settled in quiet nicely :)) We're growing many herbs and salad this year so there'll be no shortage of parsley.

Are they ok with eating other herbs such as basil and thyme? I've found loads of info on veggies and fruit they can eat, but a lot of sites say different things for herbs :{

Aww everyones guinea pigs have lovely names. I think I like Star Wars and Harry Potter equally though XD But for names I think the long haired one will be named Chewie (short for Chewbacca) the oh wont let me name him anything else :)) and Toffee for the short haired one because he's so smooth and shiny haha!

Thank you to everyone for all you help :)

They're beautiful boys I can't believe no-one wanted them.

Chewie is an amazing name for the long haired one. Maybe the short haired one could be Obi (short for obi-wan) or Solo? We have a falcon at the falconry centre called Solo and it works really well as a name.

My boys adore basil and green pepper for treats.

They are gorgeous, i am also useless at naming, yet these just popped into my head, zippy n george, hehe
