Two piggies I adopted sat have v shaped dandruff on their noses like this (I am not even going to try to get a good photo as they dont know me yet and run away :-() , nowhere else on their bodies is there dandruff and the other piggy and rabbit they lived with have no signs of dandruff

is this likely to be some strange genetic thing as a v on their noses seems like an odd place to get dandruff and it seems even more odd that two siblings would get it. From a distance it looks like they have white flashes of fur on their noses

It can sort of be seen on this photo of twix and this other photo of her

There is no fur loss or anything like that - just curious about it

The rabbit no longer lives with the pigs

I know that me and my sibling both suffer bad dandruff in the same places on our heads as does our mother - thats what made me think

Could be fungal...
Most fungals start like that...
You can try some of the gorgeous guineas stuff or pop in to the vets...

I have beaphar anti fungal spray but I shall try GG stuff, and if it doesnt clear ill obviously go to the vet :-)

The beaphar spray says apply twice a day to the area, but as its a spray do you think spraying onto a cotton ball and dabbing on would work?

Ooh, I think that may be what Freya has. She gets grey flaky bits on her nose like that. It never seems to get better or worse so I've just left it. It doesn't bother her at all.
Lexi her sibling doesn't have it though.

As Clare said a trip to the vets would be best to see what you are dealing with, if it is fungal it is not something to ignore and will spread quickly to your other piggies and you! However, does it look like this as could be teddy nose and nothing to worry about?

After looking through those it does look like that and after a better look its bumpy on one pig and just baldy on the other - both piggies have the same shape stripe as all those teddy nose pigs

it looked like dandruff at night when I was checking their hay and water the first time I held them (no light in the yard only ambient light from the light pollution you get in built up areas) There are no signs on piggy 3 at all their coats are in beautiful condition and the photo with the rabbit is months old maybe 6 months old and the stripe is there.

I will continue with the beaphar spray for a week as advised on the bottle and at any sign of it getting worse or spreading they will be rushed to the vets asap (vets is round the corner and OH doesnt work so getting to the vets isnt an issue) as teddy nose is fungal strictly the beaphar should help with it and ill get some green neem cream thats mentioned inthose threads :-) thankyou all

Heres a photo

The other pigs is much less obvious and smaller but she wouldnt stay still and macro photograhy is not my strong point

One if my first piggies had exactly that, a triangle of what looked like dandruff on their nose. unfortunately I didnt know much about the medical issues with piggies (I was only 9 at the time) so assumed it wasnt much. It never got any worse but it didnt dissapear and it didnt affect him. However, all cases are different so i would definately get him checked by a vet if the fungal shampoo doesnt clear it up. X

They will go to the vets if it hasnt shown any signs of getting better or it gets worse in a weeks time, the treatment I am using says after 7 days to visit a vet :-)

I'm going to text my friend and see if they have always had it

I thought id update this

The beaphar spray got rid of the minor case twix had and really reduced twirls to a thin line :-)
